How long do I get access to the Dental Education Programme for?

The Dental Education Programme is a 12-month programme running from August 2025 to August 2026. Whenever you decide to join the programme after 4th August you will have access to it until 31st August 2026. For example if you joined on 1st January 2026 you would have 8 months access to the programme.

I’ve registered my interest in the Dental Education Programme. When can I expect to receive my code?

The Programme launches on 4th August 2025.  

If you join or renew your membership with the DDU from January 2025 to July 2025, you will receive your code by email the week commencing 4th August.  

If you join or renew with the DDU AFTER 4th August 2025, you can expect to receive your code within a week of joining.

NOTE: You will also be able to find your DDU code in the ‘MyMembership’ area of your DDU account. 

 

How do I get my DDU code?

If you are already a DDU member, simply get in touch with the DDU to get your code for access to the Dental Education Programme. And, if you’re not yet a DDU member, simply get in touch with them to sign up and get your code!  

The programme launches on 4th August 2025 so your code will be sent to you by email after this date. You can expect your code to arrive in about a week. 

Which topics will the modules cover?

Our current topics are: Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and orofacial pain; Sepsis and dental infections; Oral cancer; Dental drugs dilemmas and Avoiding burnout for GDPs.

 

Dental Education Programme  - Terms and Conditions

  1. Parties:
    GP Update Limited, trading as Red Whale (“Red Whale”), and the Dental Defence Union (“DDU”) are partnering to provide the Dental Education Programme.
  2. Company Details:
    • GP Update Limited is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 07135974), with its registered office at One Canada Square, London, E14 5GS.
    • The DDU is the dental division of Medical Defence Union Limited (“MDU”). References to the DDU and DDU membership include MDU and MDU membership. The MDU is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 00021708) with its registered office at One Canada Square, London, E14 5GS.
  3. Eligibility:
    The Dental Education Programme is exclusive to DDU members who join or renew their membership from 1 January 2025. Only qualified dentists with an active DDU membership are eligible to receive a unique access code. This offer is not available to dental students or trainees.
  4. Access Codes:
    • Access codes are issued by the DDU and are for personal use only. Each code may be redeemed once and is strictly non-transferable.
    • Codes can be redeemed anytime during the member’s 12-month DDU membership term.
    • Access to the programme content will expire on 31 August 2026, regardless of the redemption date.
  5. Use and Misuse:
    The DDU reserves the right to revoke access to the Dental Education Programme for individuals who are no longer active members or who misuse their access codes.
  6. Data Sharing and Privacy:
    • By signing up for the Dental Education Programme, you consent to the DDU sharing your contact details with Red Whale, who may contact you to support your learning experience.
    • You also agree that Red Whale may share your usage data and information with the DDU for the purposes of verifying and recording member access to the programme.
  7. Access to the Programme:
    • The Dental Education Programme cannot be purchased separately and is not exchangeable for cash or any other goods or services.
    • Access to content is only available via a unique code sent by the DDU after 4 August 2025 and can also be found in your MyMembership area on the DDU website.
    • This offer is available only to DDU members residing in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
  8. Promoter and Changes:
    • The promoter of this offer is the DDU.
    • The DDU reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, suspend, or amend this promotion with notice where necessary.
    • If circumstances beyond the DDU’s control arise, the offer may be replaced with an alternative of equal or greater value.
    • These terms and conditions may be amended at any time, with updated terms taking immediate effect upon publication.
  9. Governing Law:
    These terms and conditions, and the offer itself, are governed by English law.
